The Professional

 

For this weeks post i decided to watch a movie called The Professional starring Natalie Portman and Jean Reno. The Professional is about a professional hit man named Leon who keeps to himself and for some odd reason loves to drink milk. Leon’s next door neighbor is a 12 year old girl named Matilda who has a very dis functional family. Matilda’s father is a cocaine dealer who deals with some pretty shady and once he starts to piss them off because he owes them a lot of money, these crooked cops who are actually drug dealers come and kill her whole family while she is out getting groceries. When Matilda come home she is horrified to find her whole family dead, including her 4 year old brother which was the only one she cared about. At this point Matilda is very frightened and the only person she knows to turn to is her strange neighbor Leon. As Matilda stays with Leon she becomes more curious about him and finds out that he is a cleaner  (hit man). She immediately becomes fascinated with his work and eventually wants to be one when she grows up. Leon ends up taking Matilda under his wing and teaches him everything their is to know about being a hit man. At the end of the movie Matilda finds the crooked cops that killed her brother and decides to go after them. After her plan back fires Leon goes in and helps Matilda take out all of the bad cops but actually ends up taking a bullet to the back of the head and dies in the end. Matilda then goes to an orphanage where she will start a new life.

I recommend watching this movie. The professional kept me interested from start to finish. It has a very strong plot and has pretty good acting as well. Some of the action scenes were kind of unrealistic at times but that also made it funny. For one of Natalie Portmans first performances i think she did a great job as well as Jean Reno who played an awesome role as the hit man. This movie was recommended to me by someone  and know i will definitely recommend it to everyone.

Johnny Be Good

 

For my fourth blog post i decide to watch a movie called Johnny Be Goodstaring Uma Thurman, Robert Downey jr, and Anthony Michael Hall. Johnny Be good is a movie about a very talented football star named Johnny who is the most wanted high school player in the country. Johnny is from a very small town. He has a girl friend who really loves him and a best friend who is extremely strange. Since Johnny is from a very small town he is very overwhelmed when a line of college scouts are waiting outside of his house to convince him to go to their school.  Almost every school wants him to play for their school and teams will do or give him anything he wants in order to play for their school. When Johnny first starts to be recruited he makes a promise to his family and friends that he will not get caught up in the spot light and he will do what is god for his education. As the process of becoming recruited continues Johnny starts to visit numerous schools that try to bribe him with loose women, cloths, cars, and money. This immediately goes straight to Johnny’s head and he becomes very cocky and showoffy like he said he wouldn’t be. Well when johnny returns home from his many college visits he immediately is confronted by his family and friends about his new attitude. This makes Johnny feel very bad so instead of going to a school that will give him all these perks, he decides to do the right thing and go to a college near by that allows him to play football and get a good education.

I recommend this movie to everyone. I thought that Johnny Be Good was a very good comedy that made me laugh  a lot . When johnny goes through his recruitment process it is very funny to see all of the perks he is being offered and how he reacts to them. I also thought the acting was very good to unlike some of the other movies that i have  watched. It has a good plot to which allows you to stay interested in it the whole time oppose to it going off in random directions half way into the movie. I definitely think you should watch this movie.

Chuck and Buck

For this weeks post i decided to watch a movie called Chuck and Buck. Chuck and Buck was a quirky comedy about two childhood friends named Chuck and Buck who did everything together but when Chuck moves away these unseperable friends don’t keep in touch. Twenty years later Bucks mom tragically dies and a very creepy and immature Buck decides to invite Chuck to the funeral, even though they have not talked in a long time. When Buck reunites with Chuck at the funeral home Buck all of a sudden has this weird infatuation with Chuck who is now a successful producer. When Chuck goes home to Los Angeles with his new fiance, Buck can’t seem to get Chuck out of his head. So Buck then decides to take all of the money out of his bank account and go be closer to Chuck in Los Angeles. When Buck gets down to Los Angeles he immediatley starts to stalk Chuck. He constantly is popping up at Chucks work and he even spys on him and his fiance while they are in their house. When Buck finaly confronts Chuck, Chuck is immediatley freaked out and doesnt really give him the right time of day. This makes Buck really angry so he decides to black mail Chuck with a childhood secret in exchange for Chucks friendship again. For the rest of the movie Buck wont stop bothering Chuck.

I strongly recommend not watching this movie. I believe that this was one of the worst movies that i have ever seen. From start to finish the movie was extremely boring and creepy. Also i think that the quality of the movie is so bad that i could make a better video with the camera i have on my cell phone. In almost every scene someones head is chopped off. The acting also was pretty terrible. The main thing i didnt like about this movie is that it is very weird. The whole movie you watch this extremey starnge man stalk his childhood friend which is really boring and out of the ordinary. It also lakced good plot. Even after 95 minutes of that movie i still truly dont really understand it.

The sasquatch gang

For the second post i decided to watch a movie called The sasquatch gang starring Justin Long and Jeremey Sumpter. The Sasquatch Gang is an off kilter comedy about a fantasy geek named Gavin Gore and his 3 very  slow friends who believe they found sasquatch tracks while walking in the woods. The town is very small and gulible so they convince the whole town that their actually was a sasquatch lerking around in their woods. To prove that they have found sasquatch tracks the local sheriff calls in a sasquatch expert named Artimus Snodgrass to investigate and see if they really had a sasquatch finding. But little do they know Gavins very extreme and uneducated neighbors made the tracks in order to make a quick profit. The movie is split into several different chapters and each chapter is designated to each of the outlandish characters that we see in the movie. During the movie Gavin always  having conflicts with either his friends or the town bullies.

I definetly recommend watching this movie. Even though it was out of the ordinary and all over the place i truly believe that it is one of the funniest movies that i have ever seen. I watched it with my friend and the humor practically braught us to tears. I haven’t laughed this hard watching a movie in a long time. The unintelligent comedy make the movie much better and the strange characters are hilariously insane. It kind of gets me angry that more people don’t know about this movie. If you are in the mood to laugh then i definetly recommend you watch The Sasquatch Gang.

Smiley Face

This week i watched a movie called Smiley Face starring actress Anna Faris. Smiley Face is about a burnt out stoner named Jane who never makes good decisions and always get into trouble. Jane gets put into a real pickle when she owes her drug dealer $30.00 by 3:00pm, this is a problem for Jane because she has no money after she blew it on a $1000 bed. The buying of the very expensive bed is just an example of one of the many stupid mistakes she makes throughout the movie. The rest of the movie is about Jane trying to find her drug dealer and pay him money that she doesnt even have, before he goes to her house and takes all of her furniture. In the movie Jane has an uncanning ability to make dumb choices, which in the end is the reason for her never having any type of successs.

I dont think i would recommend watching Smiley Face. Eventhough it was kind of funny and the acting wasnt half bad, i think it was one of the strangest movies that i have ever seen. The situations that Jane were put into when she was high were absolutely ridiculous and could never happen. I thought some of the situations were funny but after a while you just got sick of this girl being dumb. It was to unrealistic for me. Also i thought the movie was all over the place and it lacked a strong plot. This movie also portrayed drug users as pure idiots. Knobody would ever make some of the dumb decisions that she made. At best i think Smiley Face was a sub par comedy.

Introduction post

For the next nine weeks i will be blogging about unpopular movies that are not well known.  I will first watch an unpopular movie once a week and then tell you whats its about, after that i will then state my opinion about the movie and then write a review about the movie i watched that week telling you if its worth watching or absolutely terrible and should not be watched. I am also going to rate the movies on a scale of 1-10, 1 being absolutely terrible and 10 being the best.
